Troubleshooting the WCAL Live On-Air Broadcast
What do I need to make WCAL LIVE work?
All users need the newest version of Apple QuickTime (6.0+) with the Recommended/Full Install. This multimedia player is available for FREE at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download. You must also have javascript enabled.

Windows users with XP Service Pack 2 installed should check their Internet Explorer security settings as follows:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools and then click 'Internet Options'.
3. Click 'Security' tab.
4. Click 'Restricted Sites' and then click 'Sites' which you can see just below the 'Restricted sites'.
5. Then check out the list. If http://wcal.cup.edu is present, please select and click 'Remove'.
6. Click on the Start Menu
WCAL LIVE uses pop-up windows to launch the WCAL player, therefore pop-ups should be enabled for optimal viewing. If you have pop-ups blocked, you can still access WCAL LIVE by following these instructions (from http://msdn.microsoft.com/security/productinfo/xpsp2/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnwxp/html/xpsp2web.asp)
Internet Explorer includes a pop-up blocker that is turned on by default in SP2. This pop-up blocker might interfere with sites that automatically generate new windows from script. The pop-up blocker includes an Allow list that can help in cases where automatic pop-ups are required. By default, the pop-up blocker will not attempt to block pop-ups launched from the Intranet or Trusted Sites zones.
Okay, I have the latest version of QuickTime installed and I still can't get the live game to work. What do I do?

Can you see the WCAL player window?

If yes, then try restarted the live stream by clicking the play button (right pointing arrow) to pause the broadcast, then click it again to restart.
If this does not help, click the downward pointing arrow on the far right bottom of the player, then choose Plug In Settings... Your QuickTime settings dialogue box will appear. Choose Streaming Transport from the drop-down box at the top of the window. Choose Use this protocol and Port ID, then Use HTTP Port ID, 80. This allows access to the stream for most firewalls.

If no, then do you have a popup stopper enabled? The WCAL Live player pops up in a new window for convenient browsing while listening. Try disabling your popup stopper software, or, for advanced users, allow popups from wvcs.cup.edu. If you have pop-ups blocked and are using Windows XP SP2, you can still access WCAL LIVE by following these instructions (from http://msdn.microsoft.com/security/productinfo/xpsp2/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnwxp/html/xpsp2web.asp)
